Blokees Galaxy Series 04 Fractured Dimensions

 

More Blokees here.  On the one hand, I find them fun and engaging when getting a look at them one by one, but when I do these photo shoots with the whole series, I really see how similar they are and their minor flaws.  Blokees are definitely a case of less is more.

This is a look at series 04, which they call Fractured Dimensions, despite all the series fracturing dimensions in some aspect or another.

Once again, I got the official figures from the Chinese release and I nabbed the whole set.  Magnus, Snarl, Shockwave and the Constructicons were the major players on my hit list, but then looking at the Nemesis Prime, I decided he was cool enough, so Smokecreen and Tarn are just bonus figures.

In this release we got, eh, I just named them all up there... Shockwave is the one with the limited Variant, which I did not get.

Masterverse Scareglow text review.

I like a bit of He-man and the Masters of the Universe figuration every now and then, and one I really love is Scareglow.  I had no idea about this dude until I managed to find out about the MOTU Classics Version and managed to score on back in the heady days of 2011.  It really showed me how cool a GITD figure could be!  I'll freely admit that I've always thought GITD is great, but Scareglow really extended the possibilities!

Now with the new, but now old Masterverse cartoon which came out on er, Netflix? they made a new version of Scareglow too.  So, I managed to get one of them too!  Woot! Let's check him out.

Pirate Body Stray Marion Build post. - Link Travelers

 Ah Link Travelers, Gashapon Quest follow on and Slightly irritating wave spreading summabeech that you are. Here I will go over the build for the Pirate version of ノラマリオン - Stray Marion that came with the Candy set.

Yes, distribution is a total pain in the arse with the Link Travelers.  They have gacha in the balls.  Gacha online.  Candy sets, which involves lucky dip things, which I never seem to see in store, but to be honest with the way things are spread out you are better just buying a complete box online anyway....

 On the same day that I went to the Transformers meets Japan popup shop, I decided to hit up the newly opened SEGA shop, as it also happens to be in Shibuya, hiding within the Parco building, which was just around the corner.

Incidentally, on the same floor was the also relatively newly opened Nintendo shop, a Capcom shop and a Godzilla shop.

AquaShooters! 12 Kit build

 

Well, for something different, I thought I would go through my building process of these little Gachapon Aqua shooters figures which I have been somewhat enamoured with the past few years.  For a 500 yen roll, you'll find yourself blessed with either a kit action figure, to be assembled, or some kind of weapon set, also to be assembled.

Admittedly, like the GashaponQuest  items, it feels kind of crap if you just do a single roll and just get a a weapon set, which is exactly what happened to me on my first try when I discovered these super late only to find the weapons were the only two left in the machine. Sigh.  Oh well moving on.

I'll be building the Aquashooters! 12 series Izumi Motohashi, the one that took me longest to get (I think)... I went a bit overboard with these guys and I think I got the whole set a lot earlier than I thought.

Moving on, let's build a figure! (and weapons!)

Gashapon Quest Wave 3, Portal to the Beast Kingdom

 Land, Kingdom, place, whatever.  Where the beast folk live.  

So here I am with a review of the wave three of Gashapon Quest plastic model figures.  Amazingly these things come from Gacha machines, yep, they're not cheap, but they're pretty cool.  I managed to get 3 of the 4 waves released from the machines, most of it was done through Bandai's online Gashapon site, which I didn't do, because:

1. It's kinda annoying
2. I kept missing the ordering cut-off dates...
3. I think I discovered them kind of late.
4. After market prices are OBSCENE!

So here is the first set I managed to complete myself.

It's been a pretty low amount again, but more than last year, but then again the quality has been generally pretty high.

Marvel Legends Thor

 

Well, here is an interesting one.  I got this guy a long long time ago and the photos have been either

A) Transferred over 3 computers

B) Sitting on an external harddrive for about 7 years.

C) had an unfinished draft on blogger for 1 year.

And so I thought I would finally do something with them.  Following along in doing some simple posting of toys, which I like reading about, I'm going to do a post on this here Marvel Legends Thor figure.

So I had these images since 2013 apparently and it would seem I really wanted a Thor figure.  Let's have a look at this Thor from the Terrax Build a figure line.

Toys of 2022 Summary of the year.

Ya know, my local friend asked me what my toy of the year was and I was unprepared for that question.  I hadn't really thought about it that much to be honest and so I started thinking.  Then I had a look over my blog to see what I had accomplished and had a little read back over my previous years' summary posts.

It was interesting to have a read over and also contrast it with my thoughts on this year.  Last year, I reflected on how pleased I was with my blog efforts.  This year, I don't really think I have grown that much, nor been all that productive about it.  Most of my posts have been banging on about my gacha videos, and translation wise there were only two.  

And I feel that summs up the way I feel about my year.  It's been a bit shitty and unproductive.  Both work & life-wise and blog-wise.  Work wise I have been busy, but in a Japanese office-worker way.  High amounts of pointless busy-ness with low amounts of output, which frustrates me greatly.  Blog wise I haven't really felt all that inspired, which probably stems from my lack of interest at work.  A horrid circle that feeds upon itself.  

Welcome to my personal diary it would seem.  Anyway, enough of the mild depression symptoms, let's talk about the good stuff.

Mega Construx Cliff Climber with Fisto

 

Ahh Mega construx, how you tempt my ways.  I was first introduced to this brand through X-Men, where I got Cyclops and Havok, then Later I found me a Thor, Loki and Captain America.  Old Cap was good enough to be my desk toy for a good number of years.

I later discovered Ninja Turtle versions, and set some friends to the task of hunting them down AND then found out about the He-Man versions too.  My first He-man set was a desperate play for a 5 pack, because it had Scareglow in it. (review on the way sometime).

One day while bored and cruising the net, a dangerous occupation I know, I saw these Masters of the Universe sets on sale on Amazon and with a bit of careful planning, decided to take the plunge. Sigh.

This Cliff Climber set wasn't on special as such, BUT it was only 10 bucks and the Skeletor face glows in the dark.  Perfect!  Having no idea what the hell a Cliff Climber was, would the novelty of a Glow Skeletor face be enough to justify bored frivolity?

 Glad to say I managed get get my grubby mitts on all the pullback batmobiles from Takaratomy Arts and their capsule toys. Yay.

Crazy little Gacha Jukebox!

Greetos wonderful denizens of the internet!  Today I have a short n sweet video of a nifty little item I bought while I was touring GachaGachaNoMori.

Made by Toys Spirits http://toysp.co.jp/ , a company that seems to focus a lot on miniature items and I have found myself slowly grabbing more and more from them.  Generally both sculpt and function are pretty high.

This one is a Jukebox, of which there are 5 flavours, for full details, I suggest checking the video, as that is why I made it.

 

February 17th is Gacha day!

 So today I found out it is Gacha day!  

The anniversary of gacha being launched in Japan in 1965.  Well there ya go.

It was started by a company called Penny, who stole the idea from America.  Penny is still around to this very day, which is nice.

Legends Sunfire Age of Apocalypse

 

Well, this is a story and a half.  I imported this guy, along with AOA Weapon X and Sabretooth as at the time, they were the only toy representations of the Age of Apocalypse X-Men figures.  If you haven't checked out those pots yet, please do so.  Oddly I was fairly positive that he was made by Toybiz (now gone), but he was ACTUALLY made by Hasbro.  So, there ya go. In case you were wondering.

To summarise my feels, Age of Apocalypse was the series that got me into the X-Men and comics that weren't Transformers (eventually I was a rabid Sonic comic guy too).

If I remember correctly, there was some limitation to this guy, as in shop or something.  He definitely wasn't a regular release.  ** Sometime later.**  After a bit of searching, Sunfire here was part of a vote through ye olde toilet reading Toyfare magazine.  The toilet reading is a compliment of the highest regard.  I loved that goddam magazine when it was alive.

Kirby Magnet Capsule review

 Wa hey, over the Christmas break I made a quick trip to a place that has mucho gashapon toys and bagged myself a Kirby magnet.  Then I made a fascinating video on it, becase not many people make videos about fridge magnets and surely, surely someone on the internet wants to watch a video about a capsule toy magnet.

DeLorean Bandai Exceed Model capsule toy time

 

Hey cool people of the internets, here I am with yet another capsule toy review, and this time I am having a look at the DeLorean from back to the Future.  That sounds kind of familiar right?  And it should as not so long ago, I did the exact same thing, but with a different one!  OMG, are we approaching the DeLorean event horizon as described by the wonderful Douglas Adams??

Mini Batmobiles!! Takara Tomy ARTS Capsule toys.

 

Here we are with another capsule toy review and this time it is of Batman's batmobile in various shapes and sizes.  Well, two anyway.  These little cars come with the bonus of being loaded with pullback engines!  

I've been enjoying making these silly capsule toy reviews and with them being short, they aren't that big of a drain on my meagre mind  

I hope you've been enjoying watching them.  I have some more to go as well, but am also working on my usual other stuff too.  Whatever my usual other stuff actually is. Anyhoo, enjoy the video.

Armadillo Lizard Capsule toy review

 Hello gang. Here I am with another Capsule toy review.  My plan is to have a capsule toy review up every two weeks or so.  Now that I've said that, my schedule is going to go badly isn't it?  

Following on from the overwhelming success of my CRAB video(40 views!!), I'd like to continue on with my wa(i)(s)ting of money on capsule toys and present a rather nice little fellow made by 

State of the Art (SOTA) and their take on an armadillo lizard.  

Warning, if you don't like lizards, don't watch the video.  I think many lizards are cute and this guy is one of them.  Skinks, geckos and the Thorny devil that drinks via its feet (not to mention the frilled neck and other lizards that run on their hind legs) and well, pretty much any lizard that is small and lizard-y I think I like.

This capsule toy does a good job of looking like one. Please take a gander.

Crab Capsule toy review

 So, for whatever reason I've been wasting money on various capsule toys recently.  After finding some cool ones, I had a dig around and there doesn't seem to be much organised information on these things.  A peruse of Youtube for example seems to result in a variety of vides along the lines of

Hey guys, look at all this crazy shit I bought in Japan!!!

And an unorganised video of a huge variety of stuff seems to follow without spending much time looking at and enjoying them. 

Which I think is a shame, as they are generally very cleverly designed.

With that in mind, I am launching a new section (yes, another one) that I cleverly call

Tets' Tat & Trinkets 

(still has the T, T and CH/SH combo of sounds y'see) where I will hopefully on a regular basis cover some of these remarkable little toys.  As well as other cheap stuff I find.
