Pirate Body Stray Marion Build post. - Link Travelers

Ah Link Travelers, Gashapon Quest follow on and Slightly irritating wave spreading summabeech that you are. Here I will go over the build for the Pirate version of ノラマリオン - Stray Marion that came with the Candy set.

This is what the candy boxes look like after being ripped open,

Yes, distribution is a total pain in the arse with the Link Travelers.  They have gacha in the balls.  Gacha online.  Candy sets, which involves lucky dip things, which I never seem to see in store, but to be honest with the way things are spread out you are better just buying a complete box online anyway....

I digress, much of that ranting I will cover in an up and coming review.  Here I will painstakingly

Go through the building process of Pirate mode Nora Marion here.  As a slight aside, I quite dig the pirate theme and I like the look of this figure.

Bottle of Halloween Disappointment

Halloween, crazy “celebration” time of the year.  I don’t care for it myself but it is fun with some of the crazy crap that comes out.  This year while out and about travelling I picked up an interesting looking item, a humble little bottle of Pepsi.

The reason this was interesting?  Well, how can one refuse such an enticing name, such as

Pepsi Ghost.

It gets better, at the bottom of the bottle, it states rather proudly:

Mystery Flavour
MysteryPepsi
And it has a picture of a pumpkin ghost thing eating stuff like dough nuts and something orange.

“Wow,” I says to myself while looking at this.  “ This could be fun or gross, but I suspect both!”

And thus, I bought the drink.

It sat in my fridge while I forgot about it, but today, I finally got around to opening the sucker up.
I had a sniff.  Man, it was sweet.
And gross. (yay, this is what I wanted)
But familiar….  Hrm, I was sceptical….

As a result, I passed it around to those around and asked them to see if they could work out what it smelt like, no-one was terribly sure.

Hesitantly I took a small sip….

Then I swore.

Disappointment swam throughout me as it flowed from the bottle into my mouth.

On the positive side of things, it was as I expected, quite disgusting.

On the negative side of things, and this was what I was most saddened about, was it was just shitty normal cherry cola flavour.

Bloody hell Pepsi!  What the hell are you doing?  This isn’t a mystery flavour!  It’s just a shit flavour that has been around with various colas for ages.  Pepsi could’ve chosen anything, Pumpkin flavoured Pepsi.  I hate pumpkin, that would’ve been disgusting, but also interesting because I’ve never had Pumpkin cola before.  Strawberry, so sweet I’d be diabetic after one bottle.  Sweet potato, also disgusting, and possibly popular with Japanese tastes.  Hell, I’d even be happy with Natto flavoured Pepsi.

But cherry?  GAWDAMIT! You go with the lazy arse disgusting choice of shitty bloody cherry.

Where’s my dough nut flavour?  Cheesecake?  Banana?

Cherry.  Sigh, might as well have given me a bottle of Dr. Pepper instead.

I can see the board meeting right now.
“So, what do we do with this cherry coke syrup we bought from Coke in the 80s?  We still can’t get rid fo this shit!”
“Let’s market it in a bottle for Halloween, call it ‘Mystery Flavour’ and chuck some pictures of Doughnuts and shit on the label, then people will buy it thinking it’s something nice and fun instead of piss boring cherry coke”
“Mwa ha ha ha ha! Mwa ha ha ha ha <cue Doctor Evil like laughing scene in the boardroom>”

Arseholes.

If they bother doing this again, I can guarantee that I won’t be buying again.

Cafe Doraemon #3 ;Fill in post

IMG_20150926_223614
A trip into the city looking for some nice office supplies has provided me with the opportunity to get some fun goods, so while I am in the process of, um, processing the 150 *ahem* odd pictures I took of Ultra Magnus   (ಥ﹏ಥ), I’ve decided to take some lazy arse phone pictures of my toys and this awesome Doraemon Cafe food prop things set.   It is #3 of 8.  But the  only one I have.

Going as south east as I have ever been.

Generally every February/Marchish time of year I try and take the better half for a little getaway.  We’d been to Busselton a number of times and this time decided for a change.  We settled on going to Esperance as neither of us had been there before.

Never to be opened figures

x-default
San Diego Comic Con.  Oh how you torture me.  I saw this set planned for the SDCC a month or so ago and was a happy little jo-jo and sourced one straight away pleased with the thought of having a Legends Deapool for my collection.  It’s not until much later that I realised that these aren’t Legends figures in the 6 inch range, but the ‘Marvel Universe’ figures in the 3.75inch range.

Disappointment and happiness then flew in all at once.

On the minus side, I am still without a 6 inch Deadpool.
On the plus side, I am not at all feeling bad about leaving these guys in package.

Hasbro, being the despotic company they are rarely package items so that one can put them back in the package and make it look relatively like new.  This lot has worked well, since I already have a little Deadpool to play with, I can now look at these guys and leave them in their boxes quite happily, because with this set,
It’s ALL about the Packaging!

Last day of too much food.

And here we are, on the final day of the holiday and desperately trying to cram in a few final bits of fun before I head back home to the unorganised drudgery of Australia again.  Whenever I go to Japan, there are three foods that I really looks for:

  • Melon Pan
  • Mr Donuts
  • Mos Burger

Ok. Only one of those is a food.  The other are food chains…  oh well.

Thus commences the adventures of :

Forgetting stuff, traditional food and Thermae Romae.

In my amazing, feverish fervour, I managed to forget to include some photos that should have been included in the August the 4th post…  The most annoying thing of all though was that I was actually looking for the these particular photos….

So I will carry on.  In my last post I mentioned briefly fireworks and children.  A winning combination in anyone’s language.  On a side note, I have an extra gig of ram in my little lap top and it’s running like a dream.    Anyway, back to the photos!!

After the jump.

Cup Noodles, Afros and Yokohama

So, after quite a long while of distractions, I have finally decided to pull my finger out and finish off the holiday I had in Japan last year.

>_>

Yearp, you heard right.

No Alcohol Beer? What a crazy place…

24 July
So Japan has many, many wonders.  One of them that I noticed but didn’t have time to take advantage of last time was 0.00% alcohol beer.  I think it made it’s debut when I was last in Japan (2009) and I must admit I was most curious to give it a try.  For some reason or another, I never got around to it, however on this trip I have made the effort to give it a go.

And here is my attempt at a beer review…

Oh, expensive dessert places and local matsuris?  Yeh we covered that as well.

Amazing Cupcake work!

Once again I find myself impressed by a friend’s handiwork with the medium of cupcakes.  This is a different friend from the Cookie Monster Cup cakes I was on about before.  I do believe that these are mighty impressive.

They were made for a cinema theme and she whipped up 200 or so for it.  Rather annoyingly, despite being on site at the time and after she made it known that at least one be kept for me, it did not eventuate so I am unable to describe the taste…  Anyway enough preamble, on with the photos.

Wow! Lookit That!  Real popcorn on those popcorn ones, copious amounts of icing on thenormal cupcake one, a meringue with a bit cut out for the flake piece on the icecream on and  Real Fairy floss (cotton candy depending on your origins) on the fairy floss ones.

Pretty impressive looking hey?  Considering how she isn’t even a caterer or anything. Maybe a new line of work should be there for her.  All that study as an architect as well…

Crazy shopping.

Man I love it when out and about and some crazy weird stuff that makes you say “What were they thinking?” crosses your path.  I’ve found dodgy badly done toy labels, strange celebrity endorsements and totally truthful information.

Please have a look and ponder this;  How did the Human race come to this.

A trip (or two) to the Peninsula Tea House.

On the Swan River in Maylands, there is this fantastic spot right next to the river.  There is a Tea house there.  There aren’t many tea houses around Perth at the moment, so after discovering the place, the better half and I went off to check it out.  It is placed next to a museum of sorts, Tranby House, which was an early WA settler.  Hmmm, Historic! I like it!!

Awesome Japanese Lollies!!

AAAggggees ago a friend visiting from America went for a family visit to Japan and then over to Australia for a catch up with us and others.  Luckily for me, she remembered how much love I have for a delicacy that is unobtainable out here in the land of Aus, Cinnamon flavoured chewing gum.

I just can’t get enough of the stuff!  Quite literally there, as it is no where to be found in any shop I have ever been to, but I digress.  As an added bonus, she also brought some really cool lollies, that would be close enough to be described as ‘rock candy.’

What’s so cool?  Well, not only are they packed full o sugary goodness, they are terribly pretty and make me feel guilty while I devour them.

Hmm, Skoops Gelato place…

Went into the Convetrys Square Market in Morley today and had some pretty yummy gelato ice cream, whatever it is.  Very nice and smooth it was, I had a taste of the caramel flavour and it was very nice.  Then I tested out the raspberry and white chocolate.  Very nice as well.

Ended up buying a cup of the white chocolate while the better half opted for some strawberry sorbet.

They have a little promotion on if you get the local paper and grab a coupn, allowing fro one free ice-cream if you buy one.  Not too shabby at all, otherwise it’s $4.50 fro a single scoop, which is a bit too much for my liking.

Good Ice cream though, and they don’t add any extra cream as well apparently.  Nice staff, I recommend a look in if your are in the area and have a hankering for some sweet yummy cold stuff.

Couldn’t wait and so devoured some of the ice cream before the photo.  Ha ha ha!

Winking smile

Ooooh! The Vanilla Mars Bar.

After my previous experience with novelty Mars Bars (the dreaded caramel one that is), I was rightly apprehensive when I saw this little fellow in a stand at a supermarket.

Beware! The Caramel Mars Bar

I love Mars Bars.

I love caramel.

Mars Bars have caramel in them.

I see a ‘caramel Mars Bar’ in the shop and I wonder, what could this be?  Out of curiosity, I make a purchase.

20 Year Booze Houndin’

A while back the better half and I made a dash out into the outback for a little day away to the wonderful site of New Norcia. Being only 2 hour drive from Perth, we left early and made it there by about 10am.

Anyway, holiday pics will be coming soon, but i thought I would add some pictures of a little gem that I bought as a souvenir.  Some lovely 20 year old Muscat liqueur. Mmmmmmmmmm!  20 Years aged! Howdy doody.
