AutoTroopers… ATEEEEEENNSHUN!

Autotthead
Here is my little review of the Autotrooper set that was a part of the 2011 Botcon attendee figures.  Over the past 5 or so Botcons they have been pulling out various ‘clone’ type figures.  Usually they give them different names, last years for examples were some Sharkticons as they were labelled A, B and C and had slightly different bios as far as I am aware. This year, they are exactly the same.  As are the toys.

Botcon 2011 Sideswipe!!

sshead
Botcon 2011 had Sideswipe bundled with the crazy Toxitron as an attendee figure.  It is a re-colour with a new head of the good old Animated Rodimus.  Which I have now covered three times previously with Black Rodimus, the Sons of Cybertron set and my Japan and US version of normal release Rodimus.  So, here we go again.

Good thing it’s a good mould!

Tets goes to Supanova Perth 2011

*shead

After a bit of cajoling from a friend, I decided to fork out some dollars and make the effort to go for a day our and visit the nerd-fest Supanova, which is the closest Perth gets to a comic-con/toy-con, anime-con of any type. For more info have a squizz at  http://www.supanova.com.au/, and it was well worth the effort.  Turns out the guests there were fairly interesting this year, so after some mad scrounging to find something for them to sign, Off I went.

Botcon 2011 Toxitron. Hoooo Baby!!

Toxihead

I thought that I would start doing these guys as I got them, otherwise, like my efforts last year, they would fade away after 2 reviews…  So here I am starting.  Animated Toxitron.

Beast planet leader Scourge from Cybertron.

Scourgehed
Scourge here is the leader of the beast planet characters from the Cybertron TV series of Transformers.  The planet, which was called Animatros in the Japanese TV show sounds better than ‘Beast planet’ and that’s what I call it, just for future reference.  Scourge is actually a Convoy, and a Decepticon at that. Well, Hasbro decided so, but it’s open for interpretation in my mind.   Confused? Well hopefully I will clear it up a bit later on.

As for the toy, it’s great.  Simple transformation, but both modes are pretty cool.

A good and bad day

Had a nice day today, decent cheap coffee, fun and productive.  Then I got to work.

Work was a bit crappy and irritating and put me in a bad mood.  Luckily I gained some friends today!  Open-mouthed smile  BIG SMILEY FACE!

Not another Rodimus?!?!??

BRhead
As I am trying to finish off some collecting, I thought I would hunt down the limited Hyper Hobby edition of Rodimus from the Animated series.  They have done a black version.  Cleverly named Black Rodimus.  Is it any good, or just a lame attempt at a special.  Let’s have a look shall we?

Latest haul

Quite a big batch in the post office waiting for me today.

Looks like my plans for cutting back have faltered recently, but this is because I plan on finishing the acquiring new stuff for a while, so this is part of my big final push.  More follow.  I even had my good camera today!

Dark Of the Moon Laserbeak

LBhead
I picked this guy up as I am a bit of a sucker for Soundwave’s minions.  After all I bought the awful Revenge of the Fallen Ravage and then again when they released him with chrome.  Ravage was a crappy Transformer.  Nice figure of the character but his ‘vehicle’ mode was poor.  How does Laserbeak do?  Read on…

Black Rock Shooter LTD ED. box set figures

BRSPhead
So it turns out that these figures from the previous post about the box set are called Nendoroid Petit figures.  Nendodroids are shrunken down cute figures of characters and they are made by the same company that make the figma line, the Good Smile Company.  These guys, being petit are smaller than Nendoroids, which brought me to a conclusion, they may be cute, but there is a limit as to how small I can handle my figures.

The rest of the set can be viewed here

Black Rock Shooter Blu Ray and DVD Limited set

I saw these going cheap on the internet and managed to convince a pal o mine that we both needed one.  It was half price and considering the amount of stuff in it, I thought it was good value.  It certainly has a nice box.  So, what exactly is inside?

THS01 Galaxy Convoy.

THS01hed
This Galaxy Convoy is from the very short run of figures known as Transformers Hybrid Style.  The only others in this line was the THS02 Convoy and a recolour of Convoy in Black that was an E-hobby exclusive THS02-B.  The concept was a combination of Microman articulation with Transformers.  If my memory serves me correctly, this line started on the 20th anniversary of Microman.  At the time, Galaxy Force (The English version was the Cybertron line of Transformers) had just started and so the Convoy of that line was the first try.

Happy Coffee

smileycoff

Found this in the bottom of my coffee one day.  Apparently it’s for medium upwards, as small doesn’t get a smile…

Tets goes to see Pirates 4: Stranger Tides

Hmm, So I went off to see Pirates of the Caribbean 4 : On Stranger tides the other day.  I like the Pirates movies.  Sure Number 2 was a bit too much and #3 was a tad on the dodgy side, but you have to admit the character of Capt. Jack Sparrow is indeed an interesting dude.  Johnny Depp  and Geoffrey Rush definitely saved the later movies

So after hearing positive reviews for #4 and seeing that Orlando and Kiera’s characters were both absent, as well as a good cast (bar Penelope Cruz), I was looking forward to it.

Bacon Angel – a haiku

Cooking the bacon,

Putting bacon on its plate.

Not normal bacon.

Flash of the bright light,

A sign from somewhere unknown?

Well timed flash of light.

Closer inspection,

reveals more to my eye.

A Bacon Angel!
