2.75” Sonic and Speed Star

Sonic Speed Star

Ok and here we have the final video review of the 2.75 inch figures with their respective vehicles.  And saving the manin guy for last, it’s Sonic The Hedgehog and his car, the Speed Star.  A great little car I believe.  Please make a note that in the video, I often (always) refer to his size as 3.75, but it’s actually 2.75, so just put up with it for me please.

Again after the page jump, there are some static pictures for more detail.

Thank for Looking!!

Tf Prime, Deluxe Ratchet review

Ratchet Head
Thanks to a good pal o mine who went to Singapore, this cool little Prime version of ratchet has made his way into my hands.  Since I am all excited about this video shenanagins and had some quiet time, and the toy in my hands, I have whipped up a little video review.  Well, 13 minute ‘little’ video review.

I will also go on like I normally do, since I get more enjoyment from photographing the toys than videoing them.  I have also now worked out what it is that is ‘Unsatisfying’ his transformation, which I wasn’t sure of when doing the video.

Gaming Grail pt2. Convoy no Nozo

neshd
Thanks to a friend of mine going on a well deserved holiday, and allowing himself to be put to work for me, in finding this awesome little fellow that I have been after for a number of years now.

It’s a sexy copy of the relatively awful NES game ‘Convoy no nozo’ or Mystery of Convoy.  Only released in Japan in 1986, it is a left to right scrolling shooter where you play as Ultra Magnus.

Opening a figure

Long have I slowly developed a ritual of sorts in opening my toys.  One day I decided to record the beauty for all to see.

Truly a toy being pulled from it's plastic entombment is a wonderful thing that should be enjoyed.  Not only does it add to ones appreciation for the packaging, but it adds to the enjoyment and exploration of the figure itself...  Please, watch and contemplate the wonder.

Knuckles and the Land Breaker

Knuckhead
Continuing my lazy theme of reviewing the SOnic and SEGA All Stars racing 3.75 (hmm, might be 2.75) inch figures with vehicle, I have here Knuckles and his quad bike that travels by the name of the Land Breaker.  Watch the video and then enjoy the awesome pictures that I took.  Yeh, I said awesome.  Coz it’s true all right?

Piccies after the jump.  Enjoy!

Working thoughts and The Third Man

Working on The Third Man

The other day I was at work and making up a print.  It was the movie “The Third Man” now having never heard of it, I gave it a quick google and it turns out that it is from 1949, which would explain the print being in black and white.  While i was making it up, I was being very careful, trying to preserve frames where I could when needing to join spools together, just as a matter of course, as it looked old.  After all, if every time it is made up and taken apart, it loses frames from the head and tail of each spool, eventually scenes are going to disappear.

It got me thinking, what if this is the last print left in the world?  Unlikely I know, but you can’t really be sure. Perhaps not with this movie.  Or perhaps it is, what if one day I am working on some obscure movie, that hasn’t had a dvd/blu ray conversion done to it and the print I have is the last one.  It’s entirely possible that this may be the case eventually.  It did make me extra careful to keep frames when possible and even clean up a few dodgy looking joins that were already in it as well as reinforcing a couple of damaged sprocket holes.

With the shift to digital cinema and the conversion from 35mm film prints to hard drives it wouldn’t surprise me if one day, I do end up working on the last copy of a movie.  I find that a humbling, special and fairly sad prospect all at the same time.

Shadow and the Dark Rider–Video Review

Shadowhd

Hiya folks, I have been meaning to get to some more of my Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing toys for aaaaages now, and have finally gotten around to taking some happy snaps.  Sadly though, I am feeling too lazy to type up a review, so here we go with some more Video watching.

After the Jump, I do have a lot more pictures for some closer looking.

Let me show you my Panty

Panty head
Believe it or not, it is safe to go ahead and read the rest of this post…  This is a little review of Panty, made by Rio: Bone I believe.  Panty comes from the anime “Panty, Stocking and Garterbelt.”  It is a truly interesting tv show all right, which takes inspiration from the US cartoons such as Ren and Stimpy and the Powerpuff Girls.

Panty is a fallen angel of sorts who hunts ‘Ghosts’  in Daiten City.  Needless to say that the anime is a bit risque and Panty here has a foul mouth full of naughty words, often in English and the cartoon is definitely aimed at an older audience.

Update updat update!!  I have Stocking at last! Oh YEAH!

***There is likely to be some swearing and so a mature outlook on life is needed for the following review***.  I lied actually, there ended up not being any swearing after all.

Beware BRS Beast

BRSBhd

Interestingly enough, we have three characters aside from BRS, that is Dead Master, Black Gold Saw and Strength.  One might think this is unfair, but on the other side we have BRS, BRS2035 and now BRS Beast.  That’s pretty even odds really…

So in a sea of like looking fellows, how does this one stand up?

*My usual picture background has been disposed of without my permission, so I have had to improvise.  I am going to try some different set ups when taking this and the next lot of pictures.*

Reservoir ‘Cons

Rescons

All these Prime toys look cool stomping around the place.  Inspired to create a Reservoir Dogs poster inspired pose.   Hmm, I am not so great at the after photo editing it would seem Smile with tongue out

Original Pic in colour after the jump.

Hmm, Skoops Gelato place…

Went into the Convetrys Square Market in Morley today and had some pretty yummy gelato ice cream, whatever it is.  Very nice and smooth it was, I had a taste of the caramel flavour and it was very nice.  Then I tested out the raspberry and white chocolate.  Very nice as well.

Ended up buying a cup of the white chocolate while the better half opted for some strawberry sorbet.

They have a little promotion on if you get the local paper and grab a coupn, allowing fro one free ice-cream if you buy one.  Not too shabby at all, otherwise it’s $4.50 fro a single scoop, which is a bit too much for my liking.

Good Ice cream though, and they don’t add any extra cream as well apparently.  Nice staff, I recommend a look in if your are in the area and have a hankering for some sweet yummy cold stuff.

Couldn’t wait and so devoured some of the ice cream before the photo.  Ha ha ha!

Winking smile

Transformers Prime Cliffjumper(s)

CJhead

Cliffjumper.  What a sexy beast he is. Was?  Voiced by the Rock how can ya not love the guy?  I certainly do, after all it is the first Cliffjumper toy since his Minibot form of G1 who is not a recolour of Bumblebee, (sometimes with a new head, mostly not).  Not only that we get two of him for the new Prime series.  Er, well you might if you can still find the First Edition Cliffjumper.

I am feeling lazy, so I have popped them both together.

Surprise Gem discovery

Man I love it when you discover a little something at a completely unrelated to that something place.  While wandering around checking old antique stores for tea cups, a little shop nearby had an incredibly random surprise for me!!

Oh yeh, have a look at that, yep it’s a G1 Soundwave ruler!!
